Gencon 2002

Here are the pictures I took at Gencon

This is one of the MWDA tables that was upstairs in the Exhibit hall, it was also at Origins as a kind of abandoned industrial complex. This table used the Demo armies, you can se the Spirit cats Forestry Mech, and legionnaire on the left side of the table

Wizkids was displaying a work in progress.  The Dungeon you see is all modular, with walls and floor pieces that snap together.  They said they are working on tiles that have actually traps on the tile that you cannot see until you are on the tile.

Another MWDA table, Rocky industrial complex. Again it used the Demo armies.

Necropolis City of the dead

This was an AWESOME battle field to look at.  Too bad it took us till Friday to figure out that is where the Necropolis City of the dead event was.  And too bad the steps were a half inch deep... very hard for MK figures to get up those steps.  Next home improvement project is to covert the stairs to working escalators.

CRIMSON Skies.  I was looking at this Wednesday and trying to figure out why there was a table with a glass top, and had a skyscraper and large mountain sticking up thru it.  until they placed the planes on it.  It was the hit of the con and got many people very excited.

Tournament hall.

We pulled some figures from a display kit for this table.. instead of the Demo Kit figures people got to play with the real toys.  We did 300 point Mono faction forces on here. My Favorite picture is the third one with the atlas in the middle of the crater towering over the battle armor unit.

Bannson Raider force with BattleMech (guess which one)
Highlander force with Ryokin II
The Atlas towering over the infantry
Dragons Fury
Swordswan with panther
Hodge pod Spirit Cat force

The Castle Siege was one of the more popular Events, The German MK National Champion and his friend were playing in the last game on Sunday, and were easily distracted by the Above MWDA table.
We had the Dragon Hunt on this table.  One of the more funnier tables to run, and it was always a pleasure to hear the cheers from this table as a Dragon was toppled.  Reminder to get some better warlords to run this table LOL

very crowded table and some intense battles on this table.

Another Popular table.  there were many complaints that Superman could not use the construction equipment on his foes.  I herd of a few games where Flash was able to pummel Batman and Superman.

One of the Dungeon Tables downstairs. Yes, that Troll brawler is going to eat that tasty thief buddy

Tank Busters.  200 point forces teaming up against the mighty (yea right) Fist of Tesla.  I am going to ask the Atlantis Guild Machine works to build a better that can do its own work and not have its vehicle fail due to pilot error
The other dungeon Table downstairs had custom Tiles that were made for the Dungeon Tile contest. A lot of the molds came from http://www.hirstarts.com/ and some of them were ingenious in their detail.  This is one of my personal favorites.

The first MWDA sealed starter gets underway

Saturday, 1pm at this point is the busiest that the Tourney hall ever gets.  We had 3 sealed booster events going at the same time, Pirates, Conquest Siege, A dungeon Event, a Mage knight scenario and 7 Demo tables going full swing.  And some Volunteers needed a break.  Insane I tell you. But it was just amazing to have that place full
one of the nice things near the end is the card toppling, all during the Con people build structures out of old unwanted CCG cards. then late Saturday people throw their pocket change at it to knock it down.  The coins that are thrown go to charity.
